Mr. Buford Lee “Bud” Bell, age 93

Of Waverly, TN passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, at St. Thomas West Hospital with family by his side. He was born on January 3, 1933, in Waverly, TN to Clint and Hazel Bell.

Bud honorably served his country in the United States Army for eight years before beginning a 30-year career at Consolidated Aluminum, where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement.

Bud was a hardworking man throughout his life, whether he was working at the plant, tending to his yard, or working on the farm feeding the fish. His strong work ethic never faded, and even at the age of 93, he could often be found outside with a bucket in hand, picking up leaves and sticks from the yard. He took pride in staying busy and caring for the things around him.

A true outdoorsman, Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the wildlife that visited his backyard. When he wasn’t outdoors, he could often be found watching his favorite sports, including basketball, football, golf, and tennis. He also enjoyed spending time at the Waverly Senior Citizens Center, where he cherished visiting and socializing with others.

Above all, Bud loved his family dearly. He was especially proud of his daughters and grandchildren, who brought him great joy. His love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his appreciation for the simple pleasures in life were hallmarks of the man he was. Bud will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his friendly nature, and, most importantly, the deep love he had for his family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am – 12:00pm Tuesday, October 20th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
