Mrs. Evelyn Christine Johnson, age 88

Of Waverly, TN passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home. She was born on February 10, 1937, in Waverly, TN to Nathan Lee Binkley and Elma Celina Binkley.

Evelyn dedicated her life to her family and her work as a retired machine operator for Acme Boot Company, where she was known for her diligence and commitment.

Evelyn found immense joy in the simplest pleasures of life. She had a deep passion for tending to her yard, where her flowers thrived under her careful nurturing. Her garden was a reflection of her warm spirit and her love for beauty in nature. In addition to her gardening, Evelyn delighted in cooking, often bringing family together around the dinner table with her delicious meals.

Evelyn’s proudest accomplishments were undeniably rooted in her family. Evelyn cherished her loved ones dearly, particularly the memories created with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00pm Tuesday, January 6th and from 10:00am until service time Wednesday, January 7th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery in McEwen.
