Garrett Wayne Pirtle

December 29, 2004 — October 22, 2025

Waverly, Tennessee

Mr. Garrett Wayne Pirtle, age 20

Of Waverly, TN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was born December 29, 2004, in Nashville, TN to Rodney and Bambi Pirtle.

Garrett's educational path was marked by significant achievements. He graduated from high school at the remarkable age of 17 through Penn Foster in 2022. Pursuing his interest in heavy machinery, he attended Lincoln Tech, where he excelled in the Heavy Equipment Program and further honed his skills.

During his time at Lincoln Tech, Garrett gained valuable experience working for Caterpillar in Lavergne, TN, a role that would lay the foundation for his illustrious career. After transferring to Thompson Caterpillar in Camden, he continued to demonstrate his remarkable work ethic. However, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Garrett made the bold decision to start his own venture, Pirtle Diesel Repair and Service, which showcased his commitment to quality and service in the diesel repair industry. Garrett's ambition did not stop there. He later joined forces with his brother, Preston, and cousin, Klay, to establish Pirtle Boys Excavating. This partnership not only reflected his strong family ties but also his dedication to building something meaningful that would contribute to their community.

Garrett's love for his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He had an adventurous spirit that led him to enjoy the great outdoors, where he found solace in activities such as fishing, hunting, and tending to his bees. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Garrett had a green thumb and took great pleasure in gardening.

Garrett enjoyed tending to the cattle alongside his father, Rodney and brother, Preston. These moments spent caring for the animals not only strengthened their bonds but also instilled in him the values of responsibility and dedication. He understood the importance of hard work and the reward that comes from contributing to the family farm, where every task was intertwined with love and togetherness. In addition to working with cattle, Garrett found joy in the seasonal routines of farm life. He eagerly participated in cutting, raking, and rolling hay with his cousins, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

No mention of Garrett would be complete without noting the companionship of his beloved dog, Big Momma. The two shared a unique connection that symbolized Garrett's kind and loving nature.

Garrett was a Godly man whose faith shaped every aspect of his life. As a devoted member of the Bakerville Church of Christ, he took great pride in serving as the song leader. He was wise beyond his years, demonstrating a profound understanding of the importance of faith and fellowship. Garrett had a deep desire to bring people closer to God, dedicating countless hours to studying his Bible and sharing his insights with others.

Though he acknowledged his imperfections, Garrett approached life with an immense love for both God and the world around him. His infectious enthusiasm for life inspired those he encountered, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his unwavering spirit, his kindness, and his commitment to living a life that reflected his values.

Garrett’s legacy will continue to inspire those who move forward in faith, grounding themselves in the principles he so passionately upheld. He will be deeply missed, but his light will shine on in the memories of family and friends he cherished.
