Mr. J.C. Wilson, age 78

Of Waverly, TN passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his home. He was born on August 10, 1947, in Waverly, TN to Jessie and Elizabeth Wilson.

Throughout his life, J.C. exemplified the values of dedication and commitment. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he continued to make meaningful contributions to his community by volunteering with the Waverly Fire Department when his children were young. This commitment to service showcased not only his bravery but also his desire to support and protect his fellow citizens.

Professionally, J.C. made a name for himself as the owner and heavy equipment operator for Wilson Excavating. His expertise and dedication to his craft earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond his professional endeavors, J.C. was a devoted member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him in his interactions with others and serving as a foundation for his values.

J.C. enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought joy and fulfillment to his life. He found peace and excitement in fishing, where he cherished quiet moments and the beauty of nature. Riding motorcycles offered him a sense of freedom and adventure. J.C. also had a fondness for bowling and spending evenings dancing at the Country Junction in Camden.

As we remember J.C., we honor a life well-lived and a legacy marked by community spirit, love for family, and unwavering dedication. He leaves behind a memory that will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00pm Saturday, January 31st and from 11:00am until service time Sunday, February 1st at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. J.C. will be conducted at 1:00pm Sunday, February 1, 2026, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Mullinax officiating.

Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
