Mr. Larry Phillip Stewart, age 71

Of Waverly, TN passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. He was born on March 24, 1955, in Waverly, TN to Wiley and Delsie Stewart.

Larry served honorably in the United States Army, an experience that shaped much of his disciplined and steadfast character. Following his military service, he devoted 37 years to DuPont, where he advanced to the role of safety supervisor before retiring in 2013.

Larry was widely recognized as a "doer," a man who valued action and commitment. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he generously gave his time as a Trustee at the Log Church, an institution that held deep significance for him as a member. He contributed his time and energy toward the betterment of his spiritual community.

Larry’s love for the outdoors and gardening provided him with peace and joy throughout his life. He cherished spending time outside, cultivating his garden, and enjoying the natural world. Above all, Larry treasured his time with family, finding great happiness and fulfillment in being surrounded by those he loved.

Larry’s legacy is one of commitment, perseverance, and heart. He leaves behind a life well-lived, marked by service to his country, loyalty to his work, devotion to his community, and love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will endure in the many lives he touched.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until service time Sunday, May 24th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday, May 24, 2026, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Musick officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in McEwen.
