Mrs. Mamie Sue Stephens DePriest, age 86
Of New Johnsonville, TN passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at NHC – The Trace in Nashville, TN. She was born March 6, 1939, in Perry County, TN to J.W. and Bessie Stephens.
Sue devoted over 60 years of her life to her career as an Avon Representative, where she built lasting relationships and fostered connections across her community. Her passion for serving others extended beyond her work with Avon; she also enjoyed a successful career as a realtor in Humphreys County. Through her professional endeavors, Sue not only provided for her family but also became a trusted advisor and friend to many, shining a light on the importance of genuine personal connections.
Beyond her professional life, Sue was an active and cherished member of the Goshen Primitive Baptist Church in Linden, TN. Her faith and commitment to her church community were cornerstones of her existence, allowing her to form deep bonds with fellow congregants who will remember her warmth and kindness.
Sue had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. She showcased her athleticism and competitive spirit as a player for the New Johnsonville J’ettes softball team, where she formed meaningful friendships and cherished memories. Additionally, Sue was a proud member of the Women’s Bowling League at Skyway Lanes, where she found joy and camaraderie every Tuesday as she bowled with friends and fellow enthusiasts.
Sue’s legacy is one of love, service, and community. She will be profoundly missed by those whose lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering spirit.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00pm Wednesday, November 19th at Humphreys County Funeral Home and 10:00am until service time Thursday, November 20th at Goshen Primitive Baptist Church in Linden, TN.
Funeral Services for Mrs. DePriest will be conducted at 11:00am Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Goshen Primitive Baptist Church with Bro. Denny Abernathy officiating and Bro. Tim Stepp leading congregational singing.
Interment will follow in Stephens Cemetery in Linden, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross.
