Martha Jean Coleman

Mrs. Martha Jean Story Coleman, age 86, of Lobelville, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. She was born on July 1, 1940, to her late parents Connie Leander Story and Sadie Mae Hopper Story in Waverly, TN.

Martha attended the McEwen Church of Christ, where she faithfully made many meaningful contributions to her church family. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she faithfully read her Bible every day. She found strength and comfort in God’s Word and sought to live her life according to its teachings.

Above all, Martha treasured her family. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren dearly and took great joy in watching them grow. Her love, wisdom, and gentle presence will remain a lasting part of their lives and memories.

Martha was also known for her kindness and compassion. She had a caring heart and was never too busy to show kindness to a stranger. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives, often in simple ways that meant more than she may have ever realized.

Martha will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life of faith, love, and kindness will continue to be remembered and treasured by those she leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be officiated by Bro. William Brown.

Interment will follow at May Cemetery.
