Nancy Sue Moore Curt

Jul 20, 1931 — Sep 30, 2026

Leesville, South Carolina

Nancy Sue Moore Curt peacefully passed away September 30, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 20, 1931, to George and Bertha Moore. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard (Jiggs) Anderson and Fred Curt; her parents; and all of her siblings: Viola Mai Moore, George Wesley Moore, Dora Catherine Stone, and her youngest brother, James F. Moore, who died in the war at the age of 18. She was also preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Suzie Walker.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Garner (Jeff) and Wendy Davidson (Ted); as well as her four grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Olin, Justin (Juliette) Garner, Rebecca and Bridgette Davidson; seven great-grandchildren: McCabe, Langley, Hayes, Greer, Peyton, Josie, and Jesse; and several nieces and nephews whom she deeply loved. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Donald Anderson, Glenda Stephenson, and Tim Anderson.

Sue was very proud of the many years she worked for the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company in Memphis, Tennessee. While in Memphis, she also worked at Seessel’s in Balmoral, where she enjoyed cooking demonstrations and sharing samples. She loved meeting and greeting people and had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome. She later moved to New Johnsonville, Tennessee, where she worked for Curtis IGA in Waverly, Tennessee, for 18 years before she retired.

Wherever Sue lived, church was an important part of her life. She had been a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, and Centerpointe Community Church in Leesville, South Carolina. But Ebenezer Church in New Johnsonville, Tennessee, was the church that held a special place in her heart.

The common thread throughout Sue’s life—whether at work, at church, or with family—was her deep joy and love for the people around her. She loved deeply and enthusiastically, and she was a delight to everyone she met. She definitely never met a stranger!

Whether she was called Mom, Mama, grandmother, Gigi, or “Sweet Sue,” she was a gift and an example to us all. Her love, warmth, and joy touched so many lives, and we will miss her every single day.
