Richard Terry Curtis

Mr. Richard Terry Curtis, age 78, of Dickson, TN, was born on April 28, 1948, at Bold Spring, TN, in Humphreys County to Ernest Cornelius and Vera Bell Curtis. He passed from this life to his eternal home on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Curtis graduated from McEwen High School in 1966 where he played football for four years and was the co-captain and half back his senior year. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1967. Upon returning home from serving in the Army, Mr. Curtis started working for South Central Bell, later called BellSouth, and then AT&T. He lived in the Bold Spring community until 1992 when he moved to the Tennessee City community in Dickson County.

Mr. Curtis enjoyed playing golf prior to a fall has in 2015. Since then, he’s enjoyed spending time talking with his friend at the gas station marker in Tennessee City, TN, when he wasn’t visiting with family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at the Humphreys County Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. His nephew, Tony Curtis, will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the McKeel Cemetery in Waverly, TN.
