Bakerville Girl Comes Home
It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Roberta Ruth Bone Latimer, who departed this life on July 20, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on December 12, 1936, in Bakerville, TN, Roberta, otherwise known as Flucy, Mom and Gann lived a life defined by love, kindness, and devotion to family. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with those she loved and found great joy in creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Roberta was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose unwavering love and encouragement touched countless lives. Her greatest accomplishment was the family she nurtured with compassion, patience, and unconditional love. Whether celebrating life’s milestones by singing happy birthday, offering a listening ear, or sharing simple everyday moments, Roberta made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved.
Those who knew Roberta will remember her for her warm smile, generous heart, and the genuine care she showed to others. Her legacy is reflected in the lives of family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
Roberta loved life. She enjoyed her bridge clubs (she and Wilma always called it the biggie and had to clean house for days to prepare) and Ladies Day at the country club. Whether it was traveling to NC with family and friends to play golf, bus trips with her niece and friends, or just to Nashville to shop, Roberta enjoyed life to the fullest. She lived a blessed life and spending time with her family was the most important.
Roberta is lovingly survived by her daughters, Rhonda Coffelt and Valerie Cox (Gerry). Grandchildren, Matt Lane, Kelby Cox (Daniel Necaise), Carter Cox (Blakely) and Baylee Hedges (Gunter) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Crockett and Ora McKeel Bone, her husband of 60 years, Woody, and siblings, Sam, Westelle, and Wilma Jean. She is the last of her section of the greatest generation.
Memorial Services will be held on July 25, 2026, at the Humphreys County Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. with service to follow. Burial will immediately follow at Bone Cemetery in Bakerville. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and to celebrate a life so beautifully lived by ones so deeply loved.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the love Roberta (Gann) gave so freely and in the memories that will remain with us forever. She knew that she would be greeted by her family in heaven that she missed so much and repeatedly told her living family that she was ready to “go at any time”. She knew where she was going and we take comfort in knowing that Jesus welcomed her with open arms. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
